The Incredible Power of Prayer to Protect, to Guide and to Save Lives
Prayer is the act of communicating with a god or spirit in worship. It is also called a devout petition to God or an object of worship.
Prayer has since the history of mankind been one of the most powerful methods to bring about results. Prayers come in different degrees of intensity and definition. A ‘desperate prayer’ to save a life, perhaps yours or someone else’s, is one type of request. A prayer can also be a simple ‘prayer of gratitude.’ I am the beneficiary of the “incredible” power of prayer. I will describe my experiences so that you may embrace prayer in your life, and never feel timid to use it for your daily needs and those of others.
Before Christians formed their religion, most of their prayers were derived from the Old Testament. Jesus taught his disciples to pray the “Lord’s Prayer.” It was then that people heard the words, “Our Father, who art in heaven,…” This special prayer became the prayer of his disciples and future masses of Christians to employ for the rest of their lives. All religions today have their own unique prayers used for a variety of reasons, for example: weddings, baptisms, bar mitzvah, funerals, the very sick, and many more.
I will explain how to pray for your protection, and of your loved ones and friends. I will also provide you with guidance in times of confusion and despair, especially during these times of economic downfall, loss of income and home foreclosure for many families in the U.S.
Prayer, in a similar sense, works like holy water. At the beginning you are not sure if anyone is listening to you, or that holy water will do anything for you. When you ask the Lord for help, you might not have faith that your prayers will be answered, and that is okay! But, if your petition is made for an honest and legitimate reason, you will receive. If you need a job and you have tried your best to find one and have had no success, ask God to help you find a job that is adequate for you. If you are totally broke and need money to pay bills, ask God to get the money for you. If you make all your requests with courage and determination, you will get the results that you are seeking. Faith will follow!
When I travel in the U.S. or to a foreign country, I pray for God to deliver me and the rest of the people in the plane. On the recent accident in the Atlantic Ocean of the Airbus going from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, what choice did the passengers and crew members have while the plane was on a “disaster course?” They had none, except to say a short prayer before they all perished–if they actually had any time at all to pray! Will that accident stop people from traveling? I do not think so, and we will continue to expose our lives to the laws of nature, and to errors committed by human beings.
If we have to go anywhere long distance, we are required to travel by air, automobile, train, bus or ship, and get on with our lives. We cannot stop a drunk driver from getting on the road and causing an accident; anymore than we can avoid ‘gigantic’ tropical storms in the Atlantic from happening. Prayer then is the best method to ask for many sorts of help from God, and perhaps it is the only way.
The following illustrations are provided for your benefit when utilizing prayer in your life. We all want a safe and abundant life for ourselves, our loved ones and friends. Prayer has worked for me and for many people in the world for centuries, and it will also work for you!
I will show you examples where my prayers have been answered time and time again.
1) Remember these words, and say them in silence or out-loud whenever you need to: “Lord, please help me,” anytime that you need urgent help. God cannot refuse to come to your rescue. You will either be sent an angel to intercede in your behalf, or a human being will come to help you. In other instances, events and situations will change for your benefit that would otherwise have had a negative or tragic impact on your life, and that of your loved ones and friends. In the meanwhile, you are totally unaware of anything that is happening around you.
Example: I was in Buenos Aires one evening, and I was stranded waiting for a taxi in a suburb which was not well lit at two in the morning. Cell phones were not in use then, and I had no way to contact any of my friends for a ride. All of a sudden, I was approached by three ‘rough-looking individuals’ who had no plans to take the bus or a cab. I immediately said a prayer for help, as soon as one of the individuals asked me for money. What I felt was a sensation as though an “invisible shield” had been placed all around me. The individuals stopped walking toward me abruptly, and they would not come any closer to where I was standing. I stood there quietly watching them, and they did not say another word. A few seconds later a taxi appeared out of nowhere. I stopped him and got in immediately.
2) Pray that you become an instrument of prayer and blessings to everyone in your life. As you pray for others you will be praying for yourself as well, and as you do your needs will be fulfilled. It is that simple!
Example: A dad recently read my article on “The Healing Power of Holy Water,” and he asked me to send him a bottle of holy water. I did that as a courtesy, but I went one step further. I asked him for a photo of his child who is autistic. Everyday, I say a prayer for his five year-old son, and I place holy water on his digital photo which I have in my laptop. You might not feel the need to do anything of this nature, but you can bet that there are people in the world right now who are praying for your welfare this very instant, and you have no idea who they are.
3) Before every meal, thank the Lord for the meal, whether you live by yourself or you have family living with you. This simple ritual will help you to be grateful for all that you have, and all that comes to you. It will also set a good model for your children.
Example: When you travel you will eat at many locations and restaurants, and you hope that the food is properly prepared and that you do not get sick. Even at home, sometimes food can have problems. Bless the meal with a prayer every time and you should be fine. You may want to keep it short and say, “Lord, please bless this meal.” That is all that you have to say. I had my share of restaurant food over the years, and I do not recall an instant that I ever got ‘deadly ill’ from eating the food. I always blessed the meals, and in many instances I would do it in silence.
4) On every trip, short or long distance, and in any form of transportation, say a prayer for protection. In simple terms, ask God to keep you and your family and friends, if they are traveling with you, safe from accidents or unusual situations. Bless the vehicle that your are on so that it gets to its destination safe and sound.
Example: I used to travel all over the world with Occidental Petroleum Company when I worked for them in the 70′s through the 90′s. On one business trip to Islamabad, Pakistan in early 1980, I got caught-up in a major invasion directed toward the U.S. Embassy which caused the death of Americans and Pakistanis. Into the attack, a group of us were totally at the mercy of the Pakistani mob. From out of the throng, two young Pakistani adults appeared by my side and offered protection. I accepted it kindly, and they helped me and others to walk through the most dangerous phases of the invasion. I distinctly remember having said a prayer for help at one point. Afterward, I thanked the Lord for my ‘protectors’ and their families. All this time, the huge American Embassy complex in Islamabad was engulfed in flames, and people were dying in the process.
5) If you have children of any age, and they happen to live with you, or are on their own, pray for them regularly for their health, success and protection. Take time from your busy schedule to think of your family in prayer. As a parent, you will be doing your children the greatest service a parent can possibly provide, ever, if you pray for their lives every day. Should any member of your family be suffering from a serious illness, ask God to help them and you. Allow the Lord to take over, and bless the doctors and nurses that are taking care of your loved one.
Example: My oldest son suffers from epilepsy, and he still has to get on with his professional life. I pray that his medication does its job, and that he does not get hurt should he suffer from a sudden seizure. My other two kids are doing fine and studying hard in universities. I pray for their success and well being as well.
6) To bring peace to your life, in the Catholic religion, for example, we are taught to pray the “Our Father”, and the “Hail Mary.” These are two very powerful prayers which are intended to worship God and to praise the Virgin Mary. They are also used to ask for protection and forgiveness. You may want to adopt one or both prayers in your daily routine by saying them in the silence of your room, your office or while you are driving. If you should know other prayers that apply to your religion, by all means do apply them.
Example: I have for many years said these two prayers every single day. I repeat them a minimum of five times per day, all in one session. Then, I let go of my life and let God take it over. If anything should happen to me, at least I can say that I made peace with God. I don’t want to leave this world angry at anyone, or bitter for any parts of my life that did not go well. My daily prayers are prayers of gratitude for my life and that of my family and friends. If I should need any special or urgent help from God, then I will certainly make my request unabashedly and with total freedom.
Your life will be one long, happy and peaceful journey when prayer becomes a part of your everyday life. Be a shining example to your family and friends by your devotion to your religion. You will be amazed at the way you will feel when your prayers are enriched with kindness and compassion; love and humility; praise and gratitude.
Web Design – Appealing Not Appalling
There are a lot of myths that people believe when it comes to web design and unfortunately those myths are things that can really make a website something that is going to drive people away.
One of the popular myths that people believe is that the more glitz and glamour a website has, the better. Here are the reasons why this is a myth and not fact.
Turn off
One of the reasons that it’s a myth is the fact that a lot of people are turned off by glitz and glamour. They would rather see a website that is simple and easy to navigate and doesn’t hurt their eyes.
Medical problems
Another reason that it’s a myth that there are a lot of people who may be coming to the website that have health problems such as epilepsy which might be affected by bright colors and flashing lights.
Not appealing to everyone
The last reason that it’s a myth is that it’s not something that is going to appeal to everyone. The website that a business should build is something that should appeal to everyone, or to most people, to be successful and make it online.
Web design is something that people need to be careful about when they are believing myths. Think about the things that people are going to want your website to do and to offer and go with that when you are creating your website. When you put your customers needs and wants first, you will find that you can’t go wrong.
Doctor Uses Electric Drill
A electric drill with slow rotation speed is composed of a shell, a drill bit holder, a drive unit and an electric motor for driving said drill bit holder via said drive unit. Said drive unit is an N-stage gear-type speed reducer, which features hat the mutually engaged big and small gears in each stage are coaxial.
1. The medical electric drill machine should be battery operated.
2. The drill should be capable of autoclaving and should be quoted with the autoclavable box.
3. Should have high torque for drilling in small bones. Rpm min 900, with minicoupling 3000approx.
4. It should be Light, handy and versatile Variable speed with oscillating drilling.
5. Durable and powerful batteries Easy to use, highly functional attachments or power adapter Microprocessor controlled universal battery charger
6. Various attachments should be quick coupling.
7. The catch of the drill bits should be friction lock.
8. There should be attachment for the saw blade fixing.
9. Should be upgradeable to electric console attachment.
10. There should be oscillating drill mode for soft tissue protection.
A medical electric drill is used in medical treatment, for example a British doctor uses for an emergency surgery on a woman in the Ukraine.
The woman, Marian Dolishny, was fully conscious when Dr. Henry Marsh used a 9.6 volt rechargeable drill from manufacturer Bosch to drill into her skull. Thankfully she was at least given a local anesthetic, but it must have been quite a sensation to have an off the shelf drill bit chewing into her noggin.
Dr. Marsh is a frequent visitor to Ukraine, where he charitably performs no-charge surgeries. On this particular occasion, he didn’t have the official tools required for this sort of surgery, but, as he mentions in the documentary, his use of the electric drill “shows how with improvisation you can achieve a lot.”

As a practitioner of energy healing modalities these past 15+ years, I’ve learned a great deal about the importance of having permission from your client. It may seem obvious that someone going to the trouble of making an appointment and driving to the office has given permission for healing. What most people don’t realize, and what I’ve learned, is there is both conscious and subconscious permission… and they may differ from each other.
When someone is told they are ill, they usually want to get well. Being sick is absolutely no fun and, depending upon the illness, the medical treatment can make you feel worse… much worse. As I’ve worked with people to assist them in balancing their mental, emotional, spiritual and physical selves, a barrier is sometimes reached. This barrier can often be about permission to heal.
An example is a woman who belonged to a Catholic religious order. Although she now used her baptismal name, for a number years she had what is called a religious name given to her by the community she belonged to. I don’t know what happened in those years when she didn’t have her baptismal name, but the lack of permission to heal went back to that time. This was verified with muscle testing. Using a modality known as the BodyTalk System, I removed the energy block originating in that time period that was preventing continued balancing the body.
Something similar occurred with another client. This time the permissions needing to be cleared had to be done with her maiden name. With still another individual, removing the energy blockage had to be done with the name on the birth certificate and not with the nick-name she was now called.
This may seem strange, but if you have an understanding of the energy of your name, it will make sense. As a kid you may have been known as Johnny. Using this name, you had a particular identity. When you changed what you were called to John, you changed the energy surrounding you. Little Johnny may have been ill often, but John is rarely ill. Little Johnny may have been under his parent’s control, but John was self-sufficient.
If the source of the energy blockage causing the imbalance displaying itself as illness occurred to Johnny, there may not be permission to clear the blockage on that level. Johnny may have had a pay-off, perhaps additional attention, to being sick and wouldn’t want to give up that advantage. The adult, however, wants to put aside the problems of the child, so he is ready for healing. Clearing the energy of the child under the name he was called at the time can greatly facilitate balancing resulting in resolution of the physical disorder.
Colorado SR 22 Car Insurance – How to Find Cheap SR-22 Auto Insurance in Colorado
SR-22 Insurance in Colorado is needed when you’ve been convicted of a DUI, have too many unpaid tickets, or have been in too many accidents. The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles require these drivers to carry an SR-22 form so they can ensure that drivers do carry the required amount of CO car insurance coverage.
Defining The CO SR-22 Form
Is SR-22 Colorado auto insurance? Absolutely not. The SR-22 is a form issued to the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles by your current auto insurance company stating that you have at least the minimum auto insurance required by Colorado law.
Determining The Need For An SR-22 Form In Colorado
You may need an SR-22 to get your Colorado driver’s license reinstated after it has been suspended due to DUI or too many unpaid tickets. You may also need one if your registration has been canceled due to some negligence on your part. It allows the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles to keep tabs on you and make sure that you have current, up to date car insurance. They don’t want high risk drivers driving without car insurance and endangering the lives of others. There is no need to worry if you think that you may be considered a high risk driver as it just means that you will have to spend a little extra time shopping around and then be extra careful to maintain a clean driving record in the future.
Changing Car Insurance Companies
If you change insurance companies, you need to have your new company issue another SR-22 so the state of Colorado knows you still have current insurance. If you don’t, they can suspend your license.
The good news is, you usually only need a SR-22 for a period of 3 years. As long as you have proper CO car insurance and have filed the SR-22, there is nothing else you need to worry about!
Start Comparing Colorado SR-22 Auto Insurance Rates
Once you know how to find SR-22 auto insurance in Colorado, now you need to take action. If you need an SR-22 and don’t have Colorado auto insurance, just get start comparing rates from top companies in order to find the best price.
Can Epilepsy be Prevented?
Indeed, some of the causes of epilepsy are preventable. Utmost care should be taken at the time of delivery so that brain/ skull injury to the newborn is avoided.
However, head injuries, at all ages, should be avoided, so as to prevent the occurrence of traumatic epilepsy, both following the injury or later. The use of helmets is advisable, especially while traveling on two-wheelers. However, while driving cars or any other vehicle, all precautions must be taken to safeguard against accidents.
Since the disease also occurs following the intake of infected pork, either one should abstain from taking pork, or take it when it is absolutely safe, and has been cooked properly and thoroughly.
Consumption of alcohol should be avoided. Epilepsy is said to be three times more common among alcoholics than in non-alcoholics. Both excessive drinking or even moderate drinking of alcohol may precipitate an attack of. epilepsy.
There is a word of advice for alcoholics. For those who are addicted to alcohol for a long time, in such cases, alcohol must be withdrawn very gradually, otherwise it is very likely that an attack of epilepsy may be precipitated.
The same is true when someone is addicted to a sedative as a result of drug abuse. Such drugs should also be reduced gradually.
In all cases of diabetes, a strict control of blood sugar is required. It is seen sometimes, when a patient takes antidiabetic drugs in more than the required quantity, or takes reduced diet with the usual dose of the antidiabetic drug, there occurs a sudden fall in blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), which may cause in a small percentage of cases, generalized epileptic convulsions. Hence a proper control of diabetes is essential for the prevention of convulsions. In such cases, there will be no aura, i.e., warning signals/symptoms, before an attack of epilepsy is precipitated.
Fever in children should be controlled as a prevention of epilepsy. Convulsions as a result of fever constitute an important precipitating factor, and may necessitate a long-term course of antiepileptic drugs, especially in children who have a positive family history of epilepsy, and/or whose EEG findings are suggestive of the disease. Hence all care must be taken to control high fever in children as a preventive measure against epilepsy.
There are yet a few more precipitating conditions. An epileptic may be sensitive to light stimuli; therefore, as a preventive measure, such a patient should not face strong flashes/flickers. All epileptics recall that when their EEG was recorded, at one stage, the technician must have shown them a strong flash and recorded the EEG. The idea is to evoke epileptic response in the patient so that a positive reading can be obtained for the diagnosis of the disease. Photosensitive epilepsy is a common one and is found in almost 5-10% of all cases of epilepsy.
For the same reasons, an epileptic should be cautious while watching TV. He should not view it at a stretch, and the room should not be dark. A light in the room, preferably near the TV set, must be on so that the effect of a flash, if any, can be minimized. Besides flash, the patient may be sensitive to different intensity/shades of light repeatedly appearing on the television screen. However, the brightness/shades, etc. can be adjusted in any television set, the one suitable/pleasing for the patient should be used, and all the family members must co operate with the patient who is watching TV at the same time.
Likewise, a child suffering from epilepsy may have difficulty in reading a book, and thus a proper light must be adjusted for the purpose. And if some print pattern in the book does not suit the child, or any epileptic, irrespective of age, it should be avoided, and the patient should be advised to read the book in bold print. If possible, the pattern of the print should suit him/her most. In other words, if a definite print pattern does not suit an epileptic, that should be preferably avoided so that an attack of epilepsy may not be precipitated. Parents have a vital role to play to guide their children in such matters. Similarly, if the patient is sensitive to a particular sound, rough, loud or pleasant, it should be avoided.
When Does Sudden Loss of Memory Occur?
Memory loss can appear either gradually or unexpectedly. Sudden loss of memory can be caused by many factors. First of all, sudden loss of memory may be induced by a head injury. In order to avoid such situations, it is imperative to learn some safety measures. By wearing the seat belt while driving or a helmet while riding a motorcycle, people can prevent damage from being inflicted on the brain.
In some cases, sudden loss of memory appears as a side effect of statin drugs. People who suffer from hypercholesterolemia usually follow a treatment based on statin drugs. Scientists have observed that retrograde memory loss may also be associated to this type of medication.
Instead of following a treatment based on statins, people who have high cholesterol levels are recommended to follow a diet which may help even more their condition. In addition, the diets do not have side effects, if they are followed strictly.
Other factors that appear without a warning and cause sudden loss of memory are strokes. These are usually determined by a very high blood pressure. Tobacco represents one of the substances that increase the risk of stroke, as it diminishes the blood flow to the brain while increasing the overall blood pressure. Smoking tobacco and all the other products based on tobacco have the same dangerous effect. In addition, tobacco causes many other diseases. Vascular dementia represents alterations of the blood vessels.
In the end, this certain disease leads to stroke and to sudden memory loss. The latter condition does not occur in all the cases. Although vascular dementia develops gradually, the memory loss occurs unexpectedly.
Some brain infections may determine sudden loss of memory, too. Meningitis represents the inflammation of the membrane that surrounds the brain. Furthermore, chronic illnesses or health problems that are recurrent can also determine sudden loss of memory. Epilepsy is, as well, a health condition that may precede sudden loss of memory.
Depending on the underlying cause of memory loss and on the treatment used for that certain cause, the memory loss can be either temporary or permanent. This fact is conditioned by many things, so one cannot determine precisely if the memory will be effective again or not. However, people who experience sudden loss of memory can be helped. First of all, these people must memorize less information, so simplifying the environment in which they live can prove to be an effective measure.
Panic Attacks – Are You Having One and What Do You Do?
Panic Attacks are quickly becoming one of the most common ailments around. We feel them in a lot of different ways, hot flashes, tightness in the throat or chest, the feeling that everything is going very quickly around you, and even simple nervousness. If this sounds familiar to you, read on.
Panic is just another word for an intense state of Fear. Suddenly we let all of our fears and worries pile up and come crashing down on us in one big breakdown. There are a lot of ways to deal with this sudden onslaught of fear.
Breath. Often when we’re panicking we get lost in reaction. We react to anything without thinking it through because we start to speed up. Our thoughts, our heart rate, and our breathing all start to become much more rapid because we are not consciously keeping track of them. Concentrate on your breath and remember that it is always easier to breath when you do it slowly, this is also true for life. It is always easier when you take it slow. Take responsibility. The problem with Panic Attacks is that we very rarely look at the cause, just the symptoms. We look at our reasons for panicking, our worries, our fears, and never once do we take responsibility for thinking of these things to begin with. Remember, there was nothing to worry about until you started thinking of things to worry about. Do not fear your Fear. As hard as it might be to believe, most of your panic attacks start hours before you actually feel them. The biggest problem with having Panic Attacks is that they are not fun and we often do not want to have one again. We Fear having a Panic Attack, and that fear makes us panic.
FDR once said that “There is nothing to fear but fear itself”. This is unfortunately untrue. There is nothing to fear including fear itself. Remember who, if anyone, calls the shots in your head. You do. It may seem hard at first, but remind yourself that these fears, worries, and troublesome thoughts are YOUR creation. You could just as easily think of a walk on the beach or driving through the countryside. There is nothing that says you must think about things to Fear, except you.
Omega 3 and Epilepsy – Do Fatty Acids Help Epilepsy?
Even though you have no family history of seizures, poor diet, high stress levels, and certain combinations of lights and sounds can trigger them.
Typically, a seizure occurs when the electrical impulses in your brain do not move from neuron to neuron in an orderly manner.
If you have ever seen a spark come from a cut in the shielding of live wire, then you can visualize some of what happens when there is not enough DHA in neural membranes.
Oddly enough, researchers are finding that deficiencies in Omega 3 and epilepsy go hand in hand.
As you may be aware, DHA is manufactured from Omega 3 fatty acids. Therefore, if you are under high levels of stress, or constantly work with blinking lights, you may want to start taking fish oil in order to reduce the risk of develop a seizure disorder.
Without a question, even the slightest lack of certain nutrients in your diet can trigger all kinds of health problems.
Unfortunately, once you start having seizures, it can be difficult to control them. At the same time, the medications used to treat epilepsy tend to have a number of nasty side effects.
If you are concerned about the link between Omega 3 and epilepsy, then you have nothing to lose by trying fish oil supplements.
Ideally, you should choose the highest quality fish oil that you can find. Regardless of whether or not you have epilepsy right now, seizure disorders can be like a bomb waiting to off.
Chances are, you would be amazed at the number of people that have their very first grand mal seizure while driving, or engaged in some other occupation that requires full consciousness and attention.
At the very least, once you are aware of the relationship between Omega 3 and epilepsy, you will not have to worry about being caught off guard by seizures.
Epilepsy and Nutrients
Epilepsy and the seizures that it causes can be one of the most terrifying disorders you can ever experience or witness. Although these seizures can easily come in varying degrees, any form they come in can be potentially dangerous. There are several conventional treatments for this disorder, but most all anti-seizure medications come with a long list of potential side effects. There are, however, some nutrients that may be just as effective without the risks of these side effects.
What is it?
Epilepsy is a disorder that is the result of electrical signals that are generated inside of your brain, and when this occurs, they can cause seizures. If you experience just one seizure, contrary to a lot of misconception, this does not mean that you have epilepsy. However, if you have reoccurring seizures, you do have this disorder. There is also another misconception about this disorder; not everyone has full-fledged convulsions. Although these convulsions are very common, some people during a seizure will simply stare blankly for seconds but much like the convulsions, may have no recollection of the episode at all.
It is estimated that 1 in every 100 people in the world has some form of this disorder, and as a result, will experience a seizure of some type at one point in their lifetime. Even if the seizures are considered to be mild, they will still need to be treated, as they can occur at any time and can literally be life threatening if they occur when you are driving, walking in congested areas, as well as some physical activities such as swimming. If a child experiences epilepsy, in most every case, they will outgrow it; but this is not true if it occurs after childhood.
Since epilepsy is the result of abnormal brain cell activities, they can produce different types of symptoms. It can cause temporary confusion, a very strange staring spell, as well as full convulsions which will be uncontrolled jerking movements in your arms as well as your legs. In some cases, it may also cause a total loss of consciousness which is considered to be the most dangerous of all the symptoms.
Types of Seizures:
Epilepsy will be classified by your doctor in two basic forms; partial or generalized and this will all be based on how this abnormal brain activity in your brain occurs. If it is a partial seizure, it is believed to be the result of abnormal activity in just one part of your brain, and this is also referred to as a focal seizure. This form also comes in two types; simple and complex. If it is simple, you will not lose consciousness, but it can very easily alter the way things look, smell, fell, or taste to you.
This form can also result in uncontrolled jerking to occur in one part of your body such as your arm or leg, and you may also experience a tingling sensation, flashing lights, as well as vertigo.
If this form is complex, it usually will alter your consciousness and because of this, you will lose total awareness of your surroundings for a period of time. It is this form that causes staring and can also cause confused movements such as suddenly rubbing your body or walking in circles as if you were lost.
Generalized seizures involve all of your brain and are considered to be more serious. They also come in different forms with the first being as absence seizure, also referred to as petit mal, and will also cause blank staring, strange body movements, as well as a brief loss of consciousness.
The next form is referred to as myoclonic seizures and this form causes sudden jerks or twitches in your arms or legs. Next is atonic seizures and these are also called drop attacks, as you will temporarily lose several parts of your muscle controls which causes you to collapse. The final form is referred to as tonic-clonic or grand mal seizures and this is by far and away the most intense. It causes a total loss of consciousness, severe body stiffness and shaking, as well as a very sudden loss of your bladder control.
Risk factors:
Although the exact cause of epilepsy is very hard to identify in most cases, there are some risk factors that you should be aware of. The first of these is genetic factors and it has been estimated that there may be as high as 500 genes that are linked to this disorder in your body. The next risk factors are a heady injury of some type, a medical disorder such as a stroke or heart attack that has affected your brain, as well as dementia. Meningitis, Aids, a prenatal injury, as well as autism or Down syndrome are also considered to be risk factors.
Nutrients:
Epilepsy does have several medications that can help, but in most cases it can be very difficult and complex to find the right medication as well as the correct dosage. All anti-seizure medications also come with some very undesirable tangibles: they can have some side effects that include extreme rashes, speech problems, as well as a loss of coordination.
For this reason, you may want to consider some nutrients as additional treatments and the most powerful of these nutrients is Vitamin E. There have been several studies that have shown that people taking anti-seizure drugs have reduced blood levels of this vitamin but there have also been other studies that have shown how it may help with seizures. There were studies done with animals that demonstrated that this vitamin helped to pressurize oxygen, iron, and certain chemicals that may slow or even stop seizures.
Because of this, University of Toronto researchers decided to test it on humans. They took 24 children with epilepsy and administered 400 international units of vitamin E once a day for three months along with anti-seizure medication. The results were quite promising, as 10 of the 12 children that took this vitamin had a 60 percent reduction in seizures, and 6 of them had between 90 and 100 percent reduction. By comparison, the 12 children that took placebos show no improvements at all.
Vitamin E helps to fight free radicals that are generated by chemical reactions that involve oxygen, and once this is done, they steal healthy molecules from embedded cells to survive. Vitamin E stops this process almost entirely, as it offers these free radicles their own electrons, which in turn protect your cells. The mineral selenium may also help as severe and uncontrollable seizures reduce the blood levels of glutathione peroxidase. Glutathione peroxidase is a selenium dependent anti-oxidant enzyme and the only way to protect against this from occurring is to take selenium supplements.
Summary:
Epilepsy can be a very frightening experience if you suffer from these seizures, and it can be equally frightening if you experience it one of your loved ones suffering a seizure of any kind. Anti-seizure drugs can be effective, but finding the right one for you in the correct dosage can be very challenging. However, taking these two nutrients may make controlling this disorder much easier as well as safer in the long run.
