Swine Flu – Are You in Danger of Getting Sick?

When the news of the Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico first broke, it caused some people to panic, particularly those whose immune systems don’t function well. Then the World Health Organization (WHO) asked countries around the world to step up reporting and surveillance. No doubt that is important because the illness is spreading to other countries, like the United States (US) and it’s now classed as a pandemic.

The biggest groups of people at risk are:
Those with chronic illnesses like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (also known as Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome), Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, asthma, allergies, lung problems, etc., Those who are challenged with diseases and conditions of the immune system, such as HIV/AIDS, cancers, transplant recipients, etc. and People who get sick often. People who “catch” every virus or flu bug going around and/or people who get frequent colds.
You don’t want to come down with the Swine Flu!

Here are some of the best and worst things to keep in mind.

First, the worst. You will be at a terrible disadvantage if you let this ominous news cause you to panic. Don’t allow panic to take over your emotions. Don’t fear that you’ll get sick with swine flu. Notice that time and time again, what you or I fear in life, we actually attract. By the very act of fearing something, you give it energy, intention and a better chance of manifesting in real time!

Instead stay cool, calm and collected. Make your plans to stay well by being smart about the possibility of exposure, washing your hands often, eating and drinking safely and well, and about what to do if you do come down with symptoms. Plan ahead, but in a positive manner. Prepare by supplying your immune system with what it needs to function at a maximum level, whether you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or some other illness. Consider how you might strengthen it.

Take a moment now. Make a short list of what you’ll do. Decide:
How (How will you avoid the Swine Flu or any illness?) When (Should you do something now or should you wait? Take the earliest appropriate action for you and your family.) And finally, What (What will you do to be prepared and to live a healthy life? Without fear? Without panic?)
