Swine Flu – For Those Who Don’t Want the H1N1 Vaccine, Are There Any Other Options?

In U.S. polls questioning whether people are planning to get the Swine Flu shot when it is available, up to 48% of those polled say they will not get the shot, for themselves or their children. There are many arguments, for and against the shots, but we will not debate those arguments here. This article is aimed at those people who, for whatever reasons, have decided NOT to be inoculated. These people need to know: are there any other options my family and I can use to protect ourselves against this menacing pandemic?

Yes, there are several things you can do to protect against the Swine flu and here they are:

o Without Vitamin D, you’re a sitting duck
A study at Oregon State University reveals that vitamin D is the ‘miracle nutrient” that activates our immune system to protect us against invading microorganisms – including seasonal flu and swine flu. We get vitamin D primarily from sun exposure and supplements and to a lesser extent from dietary sources. There’s less sun in the winter and we’re more covered up. That’s why people who are deficient in vitamin D get winter colds and flu. We need to get at least 4000-8000 I.U. per day from sun exposure and supplements. Your immune system saves your life every day from all the “bad” microorganisms. Activate your immune system by making sure you have enough vitamin D (to be more specific, it’s actually vitamin D3).

o Take your probiotic daily (huh…what’s a probiotic?)
Some people say that flu “begins in the gut and ends in the gut”. In other words, if you have good digestion, you increase your resistance to Swine flu and all types of flu strains. Take a probiotic daily. They’re available in natural food stores and in regular grocery stores in yogurt cultures and even in chocolate.

o Get more snooze time
Your body knows how to heal itself and it does this best when sleeping. Get enough rest on a daily basis. If stress is causing you to feel tired, take naps, go to bed earlier, relax and let your body do what it does best, restore and rebuild your immune system.

o Go soak your head
Our bodies are 80% water. Drink lots of water each day to stay hydrated and help your body to get rid of toxins in the blood and the liver. Drink water, not soda or juice for the best results.

o Exercise (we get tired just thinking about it)
If you exercise, you increase your resistance to disease. It stimulates a cleansing blood flow and increases stress reducing hormones. It doesn’t have to be “no pain, no gain”. Just walking daily helps your general health and well being.

o Like mother said, “Take your vitamins”
Vitamin A increases the white blood cells that fight disease.
Vitamin C improves resistance & helps prevents flu if 1000 mg doses are taken every 6 hours.
NAC is an amino acid that has raised immunity to flu in clinical trials.
For overall health, take a comprehensive vitamin and mineral supplement every day.

o Boost your Glutathione (what the heck is Glutathione?)
Glutathione (GHS) is a peptide found in every cell in the body. It is the body’s own super antioxidant which neutralizes free radicals attacking the body. 60,000 medical articles have been written about Glutathione. We lose GSH from the age of 20 so anyone over the age of 50 should boost their GSH to be truly healthy, protected against the Swine flu and many other diseases. See my FREE internet site below for more GSH info, including ways to boost your Glutathione.
